Toxic Food

I've been aware for some time just how much chronic illness there is in the UK, but not known what's been causing it. I read some stats recently that if you include things like obesity and mental health issues along with the things we normally think of as chronic illness, such as diabetes and high B...

Re: 20170727 Book: Do It Yourself 12 Volt Solar Power

@tahanson thanks for the suggestion. I bought a copy of this e-book and it's already helped me to rewire my solar power system to be more efficient so I'm pleased I got it. However readers should be aware that it comes as a Kobo download (Kobo is an alternative to Kindle) so you either need a Kobo r...

Re: Civilization will contract, the question is, how far?

@Dave Z I totally agree that we've already used up many of the easily available resources that made our own industrial revolution possible, making it harder for another civilisation following us to repeat the developmental stages. I don't know if there's any theory around this, but I've been toying ...

Re: pyrolysis products

I recently came cross a machine made by a Japanese company called Blest which claims to use pyrolysis to convert plastic into fuel. http://inhabitat.com/japanese-inventor-akinori-ito-creates-machine-that-converts-plastic-bags-into-fuel/ . Checking on Google it appears that there are several such mac...

Re: Money

Hi th I'd have agreed with you until fairly recently, but no longer am able to. I think the nature of money has changed, it's no longer just a neutral means of exchange. When the 8 richest people in the world have more of it than the 50% poorest, there's something obscene going on, however much thos...

Re: Preparing for the apocalypse.

So, today in the UK the newspapers are carrying stories of supermarkets rationing vegetables, after crop failures in the Mediterranean. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/03/no-three-lettuce-heads-supermarkets-tell-customers-extreme-weather/ Maybe the survival plans will be necessary sooner rat...

Re: Money

Interesting thoughts on this topic. I'm more and more coming to the conclusion that it's money that allows mankind to destroy the environment - if everything is reduced to nothing more than money that allows such things as the chopping down rainforests to go ahead without a second thought. Any thoug...

Re: The Lucifer Bug: The Road to Clachtoll Maurice Goldsmith

Thanks Stongbow!

I've got a sequel half written, so your comments will encourage me to finish that off. I'm also doing some of what's in the book in real life (setting up the retreat), so hopefully there will be some writing coming out of that too.

Is anyone hearing us?

I've been assuming that posts on this forum would be visible via the search engines, and there's evidence that the 'bots are crawling it. However I've been feeding the titles of many of the topics here into Google and so far not a single one has come up. It looks like we're invisible! Maybe this is ...
