GRB from Betelgeuse Super nova or Nasty NanoTech

Two disasters I have not seen listed here so far are:- Betelgeuse could go supernova at any time and I think its the closest star likely to do so on a reasonable time frame but it could be as much as a million years. OK, so here's an obvious question that occurred to me (well, two actually): 1) would we develop the means to travel to Svalbard before we needed to resort to a seed vault, and 2) once there, how the hell would we get in?!! I suspect quite a few sailing ships would survive most types of civilisation...
