Re: People: The biggest killer of people

Hi, no you're right - it doesn't broach the subject of killing, or wilderness survival skills. 'The Knowledge' is a popular science book that explores the underlying science and technology supporting our civilisation that we just take for granted today. Re: Visual representations

Yes, I completely agree with you both, and if an international effort ever is undertaken to genuinely attempt to preserve all of the most important information for recovering civilisation it would certainly need to include copious diagrams and graphics, and perhaps animations and videos too. I discu...

Re: Biodiesel

Thanks again Clive. It seems that the problem doesn't lie with biodiesel per se , but the diesel particulate filter which is only there by law, and only on new vehicles. The DPF doesn't affect the performance of the engine itself and so could simply be removed if you did need to run a diesel engine ...

Re: Revival Timeline - is it even probable?

Hi, thanks for your thoughts! I agree with you totally that if civilisation is to have any chance of a rapid bounce-back after a global catastrophe then it would be best to preserve as much knowledge as possible. Canticle for Leibowitz is a great read and one of my recommended books , but as Walter ...

Re: Consider no-till farming methods

Hi Bill, I can't see anything about nuclear/volcanic/meteoric "winter" gardening on the PlantLab website, but it certainly sounds like an interesting topic I'd want to look into. Do you know of another link or reference to it? I'd suspect, though, that vertical gardens and LEDs would be so...
