Re: Satellites

Nice post. Would it be possible to have pre=planned apocalypse communication satellites? Something that would use solar power, with a view for long term use, which only came on during certain times of the day so as to conserve power? It could give international live time comms by acting as a relay s...

Re: Food Crisis

Interesting thread - look what happened in Ireland in the 1800s, with the potato famine. I believe a blight killed off much of the crop, leaving many to perish.

Last Light & Afterlight by Alex Scarrow

This starts with 'peak oil' (i.e. none left!) and goes on from there. This is a two books serial, with the first being 'the end of civilisation' and people getting home etc and the second one being a few years afterwards, with small communities etc and the events as people come together. There are s...

There Falls No Shadow by David E Crossley

This is probably my favourite book in this subject. The story starts in Scotland and goes through the apocalypse/end/fall, the collection of survivors and attempting to re-establish a life of sorts. It also has some action and surprises in it too. I just wish David would hurry up and write the next ...

The Survivalist (books) by Arthur Bradley

Book 1: The Survivalist (Frontier Justice)
Book 2: The Survivalist (Anarchy Rising)
Book 3: The Survivalist (Judgment Day)
Book 4: The Survivalist (Madness Looms)

A fun read, with some really great one liners.

Re: Lucifer's Hammer

Great book. A very interesting read, especially with the way it all starts and the descriptions given.
