20151206 Place: Hobbit Homes

Dr. Dartnell provided "Time and Place" as a category for posts in this forum ... it is a bit of a stretch to put housing designs here, but it will do for now. If someone has a suggestion for a better major category please comment by private email.

I like this design concept as a precursor for lunar and Martian habitats, in addition to the default siting on Earth.

The psychology of living under a layer of regolith will not come naturally for humans in 2015, with the possible exception of folks enduring life in war zones, and my guess is they would rather be somewhere else.

Never-the-less, it seems reasonable to presume that most habitation away from Earth will look something like this.

As a reminder for all who might stop by this forum, Dr. Dartnell is generously hosting this forum as part of his book support web site. Because the forum did not "take off" as a traditional forum, there is an opportunity for budding authors to use this site as a notepad for constructing a book or an article, or just a set of notes on some topic of interest.

As a courtesy, please do not reply to the author in the public space. Instead, use the private email service to provide feedback to the author.

To repeat an old adage: If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

If you would like to see the author's theme developed in some direction of interest to you, that would be useful feedback.

If you see a factual error, and you can support your point of view with valid and accessible documentation, that too would be useful feedback by private email.
