Greetings from Canada

Hello,
I've been interested in self-sufficiency for many years, and I garden on my little urban postage stamp, compost, forage, assemble clothing, make soap, fix bicycles and would like to get into brewing, tanning, and hunting and butchery. I've been very involved in the Transition Towns movement for the past 6 years, mainly for climate protection reasons. I prefer a life where we can meet more of our own needs and be less at the mercy of forces we have little control over, a more resilient and rewarding life.

I live on the Atlantic coast of Canada. Rural, forested, comparatively warm and sheltered, with a fairly intact social fabric and collapsed fish stocks. Looking forward to learning more and meeting like-minded folks!
