To include kerosene as an 18th Century technology is a bit of a stretch, because (according to Wikipedia) it was invented in the 19th Century.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerosene
However, it seems reasonable (to me) to suppose that a person living in the 18th century could have understood lamps and heaters designed to use kerosene.

With the assistance of instructions provided by Mr. Stair on his web site, I have brought an Aladdin Blue Flame Heater back to life.
A wick trimming tool, and a recently manufactured wick are on order.
