Open Letter: Ban autonomous intelligence weapons!

Open Letter: Ban autonomous intelligence weapons!

Some thousands experts already have underscribed this Open Letter:

http://futureoflife.org/AI/open_letter_ ... us_weapons

What has this to do with the subject of "The Knowledge"?

Most time we break our head how to preserve important knowledge over a scratch of civilisation to rebuild it after.
But we did not answer the following questions:
- is it possible?
- if not, should we not better invest our brainpower into methods to use knowledge to AVOID scratch?
- which parts of "civilisation" are worth to be protected or rebuild - and which are NOT?
- exist "Bad Knowledge", which is too dangerous to be spread and which has to be banned as strong as possible?

In my opinion, a "civilisation", where autonomous weapons are available for everybody, would be not worth to live in!
We must invest any efforts to stop this nightmare!

I hope it will not disturb if i document here a telepolis-article in german language.
It is too complex for me to translate the main content into english.

It shows how german scientific institutes like the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft are involved into the evolution of unmanned, autonomous weapons like drones etc.
Sponsored by the taxes from every german citizen, despite of he agrees or not:

http://www.heise.de/tp/artikel/46/46205/1.html

They take part at an international conference on this subject.
But the ethic question about how to ban knowledge like that and how to control its further spreading and evolving, seems not to be a topic of this conference.

It is time for citizens around the world to make pressure on their governments to ban these weapons!

Whenever I think of these, it reminds me of the Terminator movie series. Frightening.
