Plastic books

What would be the best plastic to use? Supposedly PET doesn't degrade at all. Could a library filled with books made of such material still be usable after a few thousand years?

Plastic is cheap, as well. We could easily afford to have thousands of caches all around the world. Millions, even, depending on how many volumes are in each library. Maybe include a map to larger caches that have more information and perhaps mothballed technology?
