Cotton spinning and weaving

Cotton spinning and weaving

A wonderful collection of cotton spinning and weaving machinery from before and during the industrial revolution is exhibited at the Quarry Bank Mill near Styal in Cheshire, UK. With the idea of preserving knowledge in mind I tried to get as many photos of the mechanical details as I could. This is a shot of a working Spinning Mule, which I saw in operation and is most impressive.
