The Lore of Still Building: A primer on the production of alcohol for food and fuel
By Kathleen Howard and Norman Gibat

This book covers the chemistry and means behind the production of ethanol and other simple alcohols for consumption and fuel. Tables and illustrations are both educational and often entertaining.

Passages elaborating some of the finer points of distillation, brewing and fermentation, as well as liquid and gas fuel production processes help flesh out discussions in the The Knowledge.

Stills covered range from the simple pot still, through reflux and fractionating columns. Digesters and gas capture is covered.

While this is not an exhaustive treatment of the subject, it covers the ground in a slim volume that's at once practical, and easy to read and follow without being exhausting.
