A recent event emphasized the subject's importance. Bee stings and pollen aside, a vet recently had a dog's owner administer Benedryl for snakebite. This was to calm the animal until he got medical attention. In the book we were given an outline of antibiotic's history. I'd like to have seen more. Any trip requiring planning, beyond a grocery list, probably has anti: nausea, diarrheal, histamine and pain meds involved. A construction history of more common medicine cabinet treatments would be invaluable. I suppose developing immunity is our best defense, such as the ingestion of local bee pollen, but requires study. I actually overdosed on too much bee pollen. One is supposed to ingest one grain a day, doubling that daily, to a limit of about a quarter teaspoon. I hit a quarter teaspoon immediately and quickly succumbed to the most incredible allergy attack ever! Looking forward to seeing some posts on how to build our knowledge base on this subject.
